Skinny’s latest artwork

Here’s the latest piece off the easel. It’s an acrylic on canvas of the Tinui fire-station in the Wairarapa.

It measures 800 x 600mm unframed. I’ll consider selling it beforehand, but this is headed for the Affordable Art Auction in Wellington later this year.

Art with a heart

Yesterday Click Suite (where I work) dedicated the day, not to designing fabulous websites but, to building/making/creating art – all for a noble cause – Save the Children in Vietnam.

Emily, Rex and Stephanie (Click Suiters) are biking 400km in November through the Vietnamese countryside. As part of that experience each of them needs to raise $2,100.

So, the very creative folk at Click Suite all got together and each produced an artwork that we are individually selling on TradeMe as a fundraiser.

Here’s the link to mine: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=177407956

And here’s a sneak preview:

Lemon and Feijoa

Artwork by Skinny

Sugar gave me a set of acrylics for my Christmas present. I’ve been saying for ages it was about time I started painting again. So with the receipt of this gift I really had no excuse.

The last time I had dabbled in painting it was using industrial grade canvas stretched over a frame knocked together with four x two wood, and a whole swag of Resene test pots. This time I went to Gordon Harris and bought a canvas and some smaller brushes and set to work.

The result: A wood pigeon, based on an illustration of John Gerrard Keulemanns from the 1888.

Keruru, Wood Pigeon artworkThe work is for sale. It measures 61cm x 20 cm. Anything above $675.00 will secure this for you.
