North Island 1600 – Part 1

This weekend it’s the forth NI1600 event – a ‘rally’ where motorcyclists attempt to ride at least 1,600 km in less than 24 hours.

As normal the ride starts from the Turangi campground with riders departing in groups of ten from 1pm onwards. The aim is to collect checkpoints and return to Turangi within the 24 hour time limit.

What we don’t know is the route we’ll be taking – this will be revealed on Friday night at 7pm.

I’ve set up a Spotwalla track so anyone who wants to can follow my progress through the night. This map won’t start showing data until midday on Saturday 7 October 2017.
